You may often hear the term “trigger point” which is where the muscle fibers have contracted into a bundle. Trigger points can inhibit blood flow to the affected areas causing the muscle to contraction further until the area is treated. Soft tissue therapy can be uncomfortable while trying to break up the fascia and trigger points; we recommend you stay well hydrated as you would after having a massage.
